Throughout the semester the students have taken these conversations into their other courses and theatre experiences. As they move on from CofC the hope is that their awareness of them will help them to be leaders in the field.
Theatre Issues class
This was the first semester of the Theatre Issues class. Every week (or two - some topics needed two weeks), we picked a new topic to discuss. These are topics that are being discussed in the professional theatre world and written about in theatre journals, newspapers, and blogs. They are affecting the lives of people doing and seeing theatre. The students posted relevant articles from theatre publications and summarized them for their classmates. Then we discussed them in terms of the big points that stuck out to us.
